¡Hola! My name is Laura, and I’m an international student from Mexico, graduating from the Interior Design program at Vancouver Island University. My passion for interiors and architecture has inspired me to pursue a career in interior design. I also enjoy travelling and spending time with family, my boyfriend, friends, and my dogs.
Thesis Project
Willy’s Haven, Laura’s thesis project, reimagines a dog shelter as a multi-functional wellness hub that includes a dog hotel, doggie daycare, and therapy-based counselling services for youth and young adults. Inspired by her dog, Willy, the project explores the healing bond between humans and animals. The design prioritizes a calm and nurturing atmosphere, using organic materials, natural finishes, and live plant walls to support emotional well-being and holistic healing for both people and pets.
