Kirsten grew up in Nanaimo, BC, where her love for nature and crafting first sparked her passion for design. With a long-standing interest in woodworking and hands-on building practices, she spent a lot of her childhood watching design shows with her mom and playing games like The Sims. Kirsten aims to bring an inspired and creative approach to creating spaces that feel warm, inclusive, and rooted within the community.

Thesis Project

Kirsten’s final project, The Living Forest – Community Arts and Wellness Collective, is based in East Vancouver, BC. It’s designed as a creative and healing space made up of four buildings designed for art therapy, community building, and creative self-expression. The collective includes things like various art studios, yoga and meditation spaces, therapy offices, and much more!Ultimately, this space was designed to help combat social isolation and support community wellness. It’s a celebration of art, nature, and all the ways people can find connection through creativity
