Daria has created Elysian Care Facility, a rehabilitation and transition program for the unhoused. Her objective was to create a safe and holistic healing experience that thoughtfully addresses the social struggles present in today’s society. The facility’s design features curvilinear shapes, natural finishes, and an environment that harmonizes home and healing.
Thesis Project
Daria’s fourth-year project is a transition facility for individuals who have experienced homelessness. It emphasizes the need for medium—to long-term housing during rehabilitation stages and the collaboration required with counselors, social workers, and other various medical practitioners to aid in rehabilitating individuals, enabling them to re-enter society confidently and comfortably. This concept was inspired by Daria’s experience working as a Health Care Assistant at Saint Paul’s Hospital, working with the unhoused population and seeing the significant need for resources and support within this community. She aspired for people to access an impactful, holistic program.
